Dr. Derek Randall Achenbach is a ministry leader, educator, author, and General Manager at Eagles' Nest Ministries in Phoenix, Arizona. He is also the founder of God's House Ministries, a non-denominational Christian ministry dedicated to discipleship, biblical teaching, and spiritual formation. He is committed to helping believers develop a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ, grow in biblical understanding, and discover their God-given purpose through the power of Scripture and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Continuing his pursuit of biblical scholarship, he is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Spiritual Formation and Discipleship through International Christian College and Seminary — deepening his passion for discipleship and his commitment to helping Christians move beyond simply knowing about God to experiencing a vibrant, life-changing relationship with Him.

Following his military service, Dr. Achenbach felt a growing call to ministry and dedicated himself to studying Scripture and serving the local church. Over the years, his understanding of biblical truth deepened as he became increasingly aware of the divisions that often exist within Christianity due to denominational identities and human traditions. While respecting the many contributions denominations have made throughout church history, he became convinced that believers should place their identity in Jesus Christ above all other labels. As the Founder of God's House Ministries, Dr. Achenbach has worked to create an environment where people can encounter God, grow spiritually, and experience authentic Christian community — built upon the belief that God's Word remains the ultimate authority for faith and practice and that every believer has been called to participate in the mission of Christ.
The Conviction That Defines His Ministry
This conviction eventually led to the writing of his book, The Inhibiting Denominational Label of Man. In this work, Dr. Achenbach explores the historical development of denominational identities, examines what Scripture teaches about Christian unity, and challenges readers to consider whether modern labels sometimes obscure a believer's primary identity in Christ. His goal is not to create controversy but to encourage thoughtful reflection, biblical examination, and greater unity among followers of Jesus.
